Name: Jayme Ackemann
Company: San Jose Water Company
As the Director of Corporate Communications for San Jose Water, Jayme manages strategic messaging, content marketing, and media relations. But her favorite part of the job is sharing stories about all of the passionate, committed people she works with on SJW’s social platforms.
Prior to joining SJW, Jayme led Communications for Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory’s National Ignition Facility and spent more than a decade working in Public Transportation as VTA’s Communications Manager and Caltrain’s Director of Marketing and Communications.
As a San Jose native, Jayme is particularly excited to see her hometown through the fresh perspective of Leadership San Jose. Jayme grew up in the foothills near Alum Rock Park and graduated from San Jose State University with a B.A. in Communication Studies
She lives in the Santa Cruz Mountains with her husband, Dean, a retired San Jose Police Sergeant, their two daughters, Cassie and Zoe, and Riley the wonder dog.
