Cathy is the Director of Academic Affairs at the Bay Area Campus which includes learning centers in San Jose, Oakland and Livermore.  Prior to becoming the Chief Academic Officer, she was the Chair of the College of Education, overseeing California teacher preparation programs at the graduate and undergraduate levels.

Cathy believes education is the key to thriving communities and a strong workforce.  Before working in Higher Education, she served in K-12 schools in Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virginia as a special education teacher, district administrator and principal.  She also served as a US Peace Corp Volunteer in the Solomon Islands.

She earned a MS in Education from Temple University in Philadelphia, a BS in Special Education from La Salle University in Philadelphia, and an Administrative Credential from George Mason University in Virginia.  She serves as an advisory board member with Junior Achievement in the Greater East Bay, and volunteers at neighborhood food banks and literacy programs.

Born and raised in New Jersey, Cathy has lived in the Bay Area for 19 years. She has two grown children and enjoys travelling (anywhere) with her husband, as well as theatre, film, hiking in the beautiful bay area, and finding new restaurants to try.  She is looking forward to joining Leadership San Jose to learn from leaders in different industry sectors and find new ways to support the community.
