COMPAC Barbecue

The Chamber’s 24th Annual COMPAC Barbecue at History Park, co-chaired by Shirley Lewis and Jay Ross, attracted a record 950 attendees and raised more than $320,000 for the political action arm of the Chamber.

The theme of this year’s event was “The Year to Make A Difference,” and featured an old-fashioned barbecue with hamburgers, hot dogs and corn-on-the-cob.

Attendees included San Jose city council members, candidates for public office in San Jose, Santa Clara and Mountain View, and business leaders throughout the region.

Chamber President and CEO Pat Dando was especially pleased with the event.

“The COMPAC Barbecue is not about just one issue, it’s about people coming together to create a world-class climate in San Jose to benefit all people,” she said. “If this year’s barbecue is any indication, this will definitely be a year in which Chamber members can make a difference.”

COMPAC is a bipartisan political action committee that receives contributions from businesses of all sizes throughout Silicon Valley. COMPAC distributes contributions to candidates and for ballot measures on the city, county, and state level that actively protect and promote the interests of
the business community.
