Leadership/Foundation Programs
Community Leadership San Jose Silicon Valley
A dynamic, progressive community requires leadership of the highest order. Sponsored by the San Jose Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce, Community Leadership San Jose Silicon Valley (CLSJSV) identifies people who are emerging leaders within the San Jose metropolitan area and offers them a broad range of exposure to issues vital to the community. Through contact with a variety of experts, participants expand their leadership skills, knowledge, and influence on their community. CLSJSV is an educational forum, which includes interaction with other members of the class, guest speakers and the area's top decision-makers—people who are shaping the San Jose of tomorrow. It is an opportunity to develop an understanding of how San Jose works and to build a network, which encompasses the many aspects of our community's affairs.

San Jose Leadership Academy
San Jose Leadership Academy is a collaborative partnership involving the San Jose Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce, the San Jose Unified School District, and the San Jose Leadership Council.

The Academy is dedicated to developing community leaders for San Jose's future. The SJLA acts as a catalyst to broaden understanding of the community by exposing students to many different aspects of the San Jose community. High school juniors are given the opportunity to use and strengthen problem-solving and leadership skills in an experiential learning process.

Participants in this program are selected, not based on academic merit or athletic ability, but rather on character and passion for the community and a desire to change ideas and attitudes in other people to help improve the community. The thirty participants are a diverse group of high school juniors who have demonstrated a potential for leadership and a desire to help their community.

San Jose Leadership Council
Formed by members of the Chamber's Community Leadership SJSV program, the San Jose Leadership Council is a non-profit leadership organization committed to the development of leadership skills and opportunities through quality education and training programs that reflect the diversity of San Jose and embody the principles of leadership and community involvement. Our Goals are:
  • To support and develop individual leadership skills
  • To act as a resource to other non-profit organizations
  • To develop and enhance the opportunities for emerging leaders through education and training, while promoting diversity
  • To promote community and citizenship involvement of SJLC Alumni in government, local boards and non-profit organizations
